May 30 Special Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

President Henry Davis called the meeting to order at 4:47 p.m, May 30, 2013 at The News’ second-floor meeting room, One News Plaza.

Davis discussed with the committee what The News was seeking following the first bargaining session, including its goals as it relates to health care and the length of the contract.

Davis and the bargaining committee stressed that the Guild will be presenting the case for its members to get some kind of raise.

Following the discussion on bargaining, the editorial members of the committee discussed an issue regarding a freelancer’s work being used as the main cover story in the “Taste” section. Guild officers will be following up on this issue.
