‘Lunch and Learn’ series kicks off Wednesday

All Guild members are invited to join Bryan Carr for a “lunch and learn session” on Wednesday about one of the The News’ most successful and expanding revenue-generating operations in recent years, the commercial printing business.

The Buffalo News is more than a newspaper business these days. Come join us for pizza at noon on Wednesday, June 13, and find out about the News’ web and sheet-fed printing operation. Learn more about the new press being installed on the second floor, see examples of the types of projects The News is producing, find out who The News’ clients are, and what the future holds for this growing part of The Buffalo News business.

  • What: First “Lunch and Learn” session with presentation by Bryan Carr, production director
  • When: 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 13
  • Where: 1st-floor auditorium

This first “lunch and learn session” is the start of what is planned as a series of sessions jointly sponsored by The Buffalo News and the Buffalo Newspaper Guild. An outgrowth of the Labor-Management Committee, the goal of these informal lunch sessions is to give Guild members the chance to learn about different aspects of the company beyond their own respective departments, especially areas where The News has the greatest potential to grow new revenue.

Guild members will have the opportunity to ask questions and offer written feedback with any suggestions or ideas. We look forward to seeing you Wednesday. We’d hate to have anyone miss out on the pizza, so we encourage you to let a Guild representative know if you’re planning to attend. See you there!
