The newsroom says goodbye to longtime Guild leader and investigative reporter Jim Heaney, whose aggressive leadership and outspoken presence at the Guild bargaining table has helped safeguard the jobs and benefits of those of us who continue to work here.
On Thursday, the newsroom paid tribute to Heaney and other Guild members who have accepted the most recent buyout and are leaving The News. A total of 10 newsroom employees have taken the buyout.
