The Buffalo Newspaper Guild participates in the local Labor Day Parade every year, but this year we’re looking for many more people to join us and raise awareness of what’s at stake for the community during this year’s contract negotiations.
So please bring your family and join us for a fun march down Abbott Road in South Buffalo to Cazenovia Park, where free hotdogs, hamburgers, snacks and drinks will be provided to all. We’ll be carrying signs that read “Support the Guild” and “Protect Quality Journalism.”
Sign-up sheets will be on the Guild bulletin boards in all departments this week, as well as the newsroom assignment table. We ask all participants to wear their Guild shirts if they have them, or their Guild pins. We have a limited number of women’s Guild shirts available that fit sizes small and medium. Contact Sandy Tan at 390-7233 if interested.
When: Line up between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Monday. Parade begins at noon.
Where: Guild members will gather at the corner of Abbott Road andMelrose Street. Park at either end of the parade route. Consider coordinating with another Guild member to prevent having to walk back to your vehicle.
