News Business from Henry Davis:
The annual AFL-CIO picnic is on Friday, July 27, the Guild usually sends a few people. Tickets are $30.00.
M/S/C Leiser/Tan to purchase two tickets for the Guild.
Treasurer Kim Leiser reports on Finance:
In June, the local hosted a leadership training program that was attended by Great Lakes District Council locals. The Buffalo local will be reimbursed by the international for this event, $1000 and by the Great Lakes District Council $1500.
Work has begun on a budget and year end financials.
Sandy Tan reports on Mobilization:
Aaron Besecker is stepping down as the Frontier Reporter editor and Joe Popiolkowski has expressed an interest to replace Aaron.
M/S/C Tan/Leiser Approve Joe Popiolkowski as the new Frontier Reporter editor.
Discussion and recommendation of a new member lunch/coffee fund. $5 per person (new member) to meet them and introduce them to the Guild. Reimbursement through the Guild with receipt.
M/S/C Tan/Davis: Establishment of new member lunch or coffee reimbursement.
Playing Cards weekly membership engagement. An idea that came out of leadership training and a way to keep our members engaged on a weekly basis. News, history, games, mobilization information and meeting information are just a few of the ways the cards can be used. Members can collect all 52.
M/S/C: Tan/Davis Approval to do 52 cards, full at $4000 for the entire 52 week program.
Mark Sommer reports on Grievances:
At this point, just a few lingering Classified issues that we will address at our next caucus meeting.
President Davis discussed postponing of the August Executive Committee meeting on August 14 and the General membership meeting on August 15 and rescheduling the general membership meeting in the fall.
